Chemex

⏱️ Time: 4–5 min ⚙️ Grind: Medium-Coarse

Invented in 1941 by German chemist Peter Schlumbohm, the Chemex is a work of art recognized by the MoMA in New York. Made of non-porous borosilicate glass with a wooden collar and a leather tie, it combines timeless elegance with scientific precision.

The great secret of the Chemex lies in its special paper filter, which is about 20% to 30% heavier than conventional filters. It traps all insoluble oils and sediment, delivering an incredibly clean cup, free of any lingering bitterness, and extremely elegant.
